What this is
The web page behind the Start New legal hold button in Outlook for the Psomas Legal Department. The button opens a side panel with the same first page as Stilgar's New Legal Hold wizard. Pressing Start Legal Hold sends Terry's billing-list request from Paul Atreides (through the Legal Hold Email Sender flow Stilgar already uses) and hands the request to Stilgar, which files the hold exactly as if it had been started in the app.
This site holds no data and no credentials. Everything it does runs through Microsoft 365 under the signed-in user's permissions; the flow's address is carried by the manifest IT deploys (or entered once by the user) and kept in their Outlook settings.
For IT: installing the button
The add-in is installed from the Microsoft 365 admin center, with no hosting, registration or build on your side:
- Admin center → Settings → Integrated apps → Upload custom apps.
- Choose Office Add-in, then Upload manifest file and use the manifest Legal Operations hands you (it carries the flow address), or Provide link to manifest file:
https://psomaswebteam.github.io/stilgar-addin/manifest.xml(users then paste the address once). - Assign it to the Legal Department users named in the request, then Deploy.
Permissions requested: ReadItem only. The panel never reads the selected email; it only needs the signed-in user's name and address. It appears in classic Outlook (on the Home ribbon, usable with no email selected), new Outlook and Outlook on the web (from a selected message's Apps menu) within a few hours of deployment.
